The launch of Connecticut’s Youth Homelessness 100-Day Challenge is in full swing across the state and Fairfield County.

We ask for your help this Wednesday, June 19 as we embark on this critical challenge: please donate backpacks and hygiene items – these are much needed items as homeless youth quite literally have few if any possessions. Donations may be dropped at Pacific House at 597 Pacific Street, Stamford OR  at The Triangle Community Center at 650 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT between 12pm and 2pm.

Since May, the CT Department of Children and Families and Fairfield County are working closely to get 75 homeless young people into housing, jobs, and / or school as part of a collective effort to prevent and end homelessness among our youth and young adults.

The plan is to safely and stably find housing for homeless young adults in the next 100 days and ensure that at least 50% of them are connected to employment or educational programs. These are lofty goals, and the 100-Day Team will need as much support as possible. The 100-Day Challenge Team has determined that hosting a youth-focused event would help bring awareness to the issue, engage key stakeholders such as State Representatives and City Officials, and make meaningful connections with young adults who often do not seek or stay connected to services.

All Fairfield County residents are invited to step up to this challenge and help us connect with those who need our help at this critical time in their lives.

Reminder: Mark your calendars for this Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Donations may be dropped at Pacific House at 597 Pacific Street, Stamford OR  at The Triangle Community Center at 650 West Avenue, Norwalk, CT between 12pm and 2pm.
