Health & Homelessness Awareness Week

Pacific House Celebrates World Health Day with Week-Long Awareness Event.

Pacific House kicked off a series of week-long events to raise awareness about homelessness in our community and the health needs of homeless individuals.

In honor of World Health Day on April 7, Pacific House kicked-off "Health and Homelessness Week". The series of week-long events will raise awareness about homelessness in our community, and the health needs of homeless individuals, especially during the pandemic.

Pacific House, located in Stamford, provides the only regional shelter for men and young adult men in lower Fairfield County and serves the areas of Stamford, Darien, Greenwich, and New Canaan. Pacific House has also begun serving the area of Danbury. For 35 years, the organization has worked to end homelessness in Fairfield County.

The week-long event features moving stories of hope and examples of the significant impact that Pacific House has had on our community. Viewers will learn about issues impacting the homeless community and what can be done to help. Funds raised throughout the week will support Pacific House in its efforts to keep clients safe during the pandemic.

On its final day, April 14, the Health and Homelessness Week culminates with a Virtual Wine & Food Experience. An opportunity to connect and socialize with other wine lovers and foodies, the evening will take taste buds on a mini-vacation! World-class wines can be shipped right to your door, and eatery partners will offer special, curated menus just for this exceptional evening.

"With the help of our generous supporters, we have helped thousands of Fairfield County citizens experiencing homelessness to find their way back to a productive life. This educational event shows the critical, life-changing services we offer, and the issues we face to keep clients safe during the pandemic. I invite everyone in our community to participate," said Rafael Pagan, Executive Director Pacific House.
