Pacific House Announces Carmen I. Colón as New President and CEO

Dear Friends and Supporters of Pacific House,

Press & News

Stamford, CT – Pacific House, a leading organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in Fairfield County, is thrilled to announce Carmen I. Colon as its new President and CEO. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Colon brings a wealth of experience in non-profit leadership and community service to Pacific House. Colon has made significant and innovative contributions to the non-profit sector, particularly in the areas of housing development, running shelters, strategic planning, and community engagement. Her tenure as Vice President at Bridgeport Y’s, a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, saw remarkable growth and included the management of a 300-unit permanent supportive housing portfolio.

Colon will focus on expanding Pacific House's affordable housing portfolio, enhancing supportive services, and furthering the organization's impact in Fairfield County. Her bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, along with her deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, will facilitate reaching and serving a broader segment of the community.

She expressed her gratitude and vision for the future:

"I want to thank the board, staff, and stakeholders for your confidence in me and the opportunity to serve as a leader in the important mission of preventing and ending homelessness. Together, we have the power to make a real and lasting impact on the lives of those in need. By providing safe and stable housing with tailored supportive services that meet the unique needs of each individual, we can help those experiencing homelessness rebuild their lives and achieve lasting independence. I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure that Pacific House continues to be a beacon of hope for all!"

Colon's experience and commitment to high-quality public and client services positions her as a fitting leader to guide Pacific House in its mission. She will succeed beloved longtime leader Rafael Pagan, Jr. whose passion and vision led to Pacific House evolving from an emergency men’s shelter into one of the leading providers of permanent supportive housing.

Pacific House is confident that Colon's leadership will continue and expand upon the growth and success of its efforts to prevent and end homelessness. The organization looks forward to working under Colon's guidance to provide safe, affordable housing and comprehensive support services to men, women, and families in need.
