We Honored Greenwich’s Round Hill Community Church at our 18th Annual Gala

With more than 350 guests in attendance, Pacific House hosted its successful and festive 18th annual gala on Friday, October 25th at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich. The event raised funds to support the essential services provided by the organization, including an emergency shelter for men and young adults and a steadily expanding portfolio of deeply affordable supportive housing.

The gala is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year. Pacific House must raise $1million annually from public donations just to support the daily operations of the emergency shelter. There, clients can begin their journey out of homelessness with a safe, warm place to eat and sleep and build a foundation for improved life of independence.

“What better reason is there to celebrate than that through our combined efforts some of our community’s most vulnerable individuals have a warm, safe place to rest their heads at night,” said Chris Tate, board chair at Pacific House.

Round Hill Community Church, of Greenwich was honored at the event with the Pacific House Community Award. In addition to providing substantial financial support, members of the church serve one meal each month at the emergency shelter, and during the holidays, church members decorate Pacific House affordable supportive housing units. Recently, the church entered into a formal mission covenant to strengthen the partnership, committing to financial assistance and providing hands-on volunteer hours.

“We feel honored to partner with Pacific House over these decades,” said the Rev. Dan Haugh of Round Hill Community Church. “Pacific House may not be able to fulfill their mission without organizations like us, but we feel strongly that we cannot fulfill our vision to be a force for good in our community without Pacific House.”

At the gala, guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and dancing, as well as bidding for auction items and taking a virtual tour of the emergency shelter and some of Pacific House’s many affordable supportive housing properties.

Pacific House serves the communities of Greenwich, Stamford, Darien, New Canaan and beyond providing critical, life-changing services and programs for those who need them most.
