A Heartwarming Shippan Turkey Trot & Countdown to Giving Tuesday!
Hello Lisa,
The spirit of giving was on full display at this year's Shippan Turkey Trot! Despite the rainy weather, our community came together for a meaningful Thanksgiving morning tradition that exemplifies the power of collective impact.
We were honored to have Mayor Caroline Simmons, our President & CEO Carmen Colón, and Director of Development Michelle Fanwick join the festivities. Special thanks to Marc Malloy, our former board member, for getting us all together for this wonderful event.
The Shippan Turkey Trot's history speaks to the heart of our community. Since its humble beginnings in 2001 with Tom Hynes and his sisters Lizzy and Johanna, it has grown into a cherished tradition
As Tom reflects, "It's being together, reconnecting with people, and then a little bit of exercise — and a little bit of charity."
This spirit of giving back has deep roots. Tom's father served on Pacific House's board when we were known as Shelter for the Homeless, establishing a legacy of service that continues today.
As Tom notes, "Shippan is a nice neighborhood... a neighborhood that can afford to give back."
Every penny raised supports Pacific House's mission to prevent and end homelessness in Stamford.
